The Town of Burnsville is currently seeking applicants for alternates to its Planning Board, a volunteer advisory board to the Town Council.  This board generally meets on a quarterly basis.  Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
*Make studies of the area within its jurisdiction and surrounding areas.
*Determine objectives to be sought in the development of the study areas.
*Prepare and adopt plans for achieving these objectives.
*Develop and recommend policies, ordinances, administrative procedures, and other means for carrying out plans in a coordinated and efficient manner.
*Exercise any functions in the administration and enforcement of various means for carrying out plans that the Town Council may direct.
*Work and coordinate with other boards and advisory groups as directed by the Town Council.
*Historic preservation.

Pursuant to Town of Burnsville Ordinance 2018.11.1, applicants must be an ad valorem taxpayer of the Town of Burnsville.  Applications are available here or may be picked up at the Town Hall utility window. Call the Town Clerk at (828) 682-2420 with questions.
