Yancey Advancement Foundation Announces Second Call for Grant
Funding through the Yancey County COVID-19 Nonprofit Relief Fund

As a result of funding from individuals, corporations, and a drive-in concert held by the
Steep Canyon Rangers, the Yancey Advancement Foundation, Inc. is opening a second
round of grant funding for local nonprofits to meet the needs of the citizens of Yancey
County resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are pleased to be able to announce more grant funding to assist our many
wonderful local nonprofit organizations who are working tirelessly to provide much
needed assistance to our fellow citizens during this challenging time,” said Yancey
Advancement Foundation and local economic development director Jamie McMahan.
“This second round of funding will follow up on the heels of the $15,000 in grants from
earlier this year.”

Yancey County nonprofits working to meet community needs resulting from or impacted
directly by the COVID-19 pandemic are invited to apply for the grant funding. The
guidelines and application forms can be found on the Yancey County Government
website, www.yanceycountync.gov. Applications are due by September 18, 2020 at
5:00 pm. Questions from nonprofits can be directed to the Yancey Advancement

All donations made to the Yancey County COVID-19 Response Fund are 100% tax
deductible and 100% of all donations will be spent to complement the work and expand
local capacity to address all aspects of the outbreak as efficiently as possible during this
difficult time.

Individuals or businesses wishing to partner in this effort can contribute to the fund in
the following ways:
