Planned Power Interruption – Postponed

(This event has been postponed until a later date) Duke Energy is de-energizing their transmission line from Asheville to the Cane River transmission station.  This planned power outage was supposed to occur on 9/11/19 at 1am.

The interruption of service is expected to last about 15 minutes. Duke will be changing out a wire and has to have the high voltage line de-energized to do so. This will create a short power outage for almost everyone in Yancey County and everyone in Mitchell County. It will also cause a short outage for French Broad Customers in Tennessee as well as the Bald Mountain area.
