NOTICE OF DISCHARGE OF UNTREATED SEWAGE 6-28-20

The Town of Burnsville had a discharge of untreated wastewater from
our wastewater collection system at the OMC Pump Station located at
OMC Drive of approximately 424,500 gallons. The discharge occurred
on June 28, 2020 to June 29, 2020 for approximately 29 hours. The
untreated wastewater entered into Little Crabtree Creek in the French
Broad River Basin. The Town has pump trucks running 24 hours keeping
up with the flow to prevent anymore discharge. The Town is
implementing a pump around system to allow for the pumping from
OMC Pump Station to allow the Town to run a new sewer force main to
prevent further discharge. This notice was required by North Carolina
General Statutes Article 21, Chapter 143.215C. For more information
