French Broad Electric PLANNED OUTAGE ALERT 9/11/19, 1am

Please be aware that Duke Energy is de-energizing their transmission line from Asheville to their Cane River transmission station at 1am this Wednesday (9/11/19) for a short 15 minute power outage. Duke is changing out a wire and has to have the high voltage line de-energized in order to do so. This will cause a short power outage for almost everyone in Yancey County and everyone in Mitchell County. It will also cause a short outage for our customers in Tennessee as well as the Bald Mountain area. Customers north of Mars Hill will also be impacted.

This should be a brief outage and Duke should have everything restored as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
